Aurangabad, Nov 4:

The thieves broke into a house of PSI Vikas Khatke of Pundliknagar police station, and made off with Rs 30,000 cash and eight grams gold jewelry at police colony in N-10 Cidco area on November 2 night.

The thefts are on the rise in the city for the past few days.On November 2, Khatke was on night duty. His wife just put on the door latch from outside and went for a birthday celebration in the neighbourhood at around 7 pm. She returned at around 9.30 pm. In the meantime, the thieves took away Rs 30,000 cash and eight grams gold zumbar. They put the latch again, and hence she did not notice the theft. The next day, when she opened the cupboard found that the cash and jewel were missing. Khatke lodged a complaint at the Cidco police station while PSI Aher is further investigating the case.
