Aurangabad, Dec 15:

Thieves siphoned off Rs 1.50 lakh from a maize trader who came to Aurangabad by ST bus after withdrawing money from a bank. The trader lodged a complaint with the Chawni police station.

Rajkumar Hansraj Gangwal (65) is a resident of Tapdiya estate near AS Club. He is in the business of buying and selling maize. On December 14, he withdrew Rs 4.50 lakh from the Bank of Maharashtra at Devgaon Rangari. He kept the money in a cloth bag and came to Aurangabad by ST bus. After getting off the bus at Nagar Naka, he went home by rickshaw. When he reached into the bag to pay the rickshaw driver, he saw his bag was cut. When he counted the money it was only Rs 3 lakh. After realizing that Rs 1.50 lakh had been stolen, he lodged a complaint in the Chawni police station. Constable Dilip Jadhav is investigating the case.
