Thousands of students have been waiting for the scholarship examination result for the past eight months.

It may be noted that the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) conducted the scholarship examinations on February 16 for the fifth and eight standard students. The answer key was also released on March 4.

Students were allowed to submit objection about answer key between March 4 and 13.

The MSCE received 2,310 online objections including 982 about answer key of from fifth standard papers.

It had decided to hold a workshop to prepare the final answer key from March 18 to 20. It was not held as Janata Curfew was imposed on March 22 by the Government to contain the spread of Novel coronavirus and lockdown was imposed from March 25 to reduce the spread of COVID. There was a staff crunch in the office of the Council. The final answer key was released on June 12 after discussions with subjects experts through an online meeting.

However, the result was not declared for the past eight months.

Akhil Bhartiya Urdu Shikshak Sangh (ABUSS) requested the Examination Council to declare the result.

ABUSS general secretary Sajid Nisar Ahmed told this newspaper that MSCE commissioner Tukaram Supe informed him that the result was not declared since there were restrictions with the rise in patients of COVID.

“The Council told us that the Government lifted many restrictions in Unlock-IV, the efforts are on to declare the scholarship result on war-footing,” he said.
