Aurangabad, April 13:

Tourist taxi drivers are in financial crisis after the State Government imposed restrictions on tourist places visit in mini lockdown.

The drivers who have purchased their four-wheeler on loan is finding it difficult to pay the installments while many others are struggling for their survival.

The taxi drivers demanded that the banks should not collect installments for six months until the situation returns to normalcy and no interest should be levied on the installments.

Members of Jai Sanghar Vahanchalak Samajik Sanstha- Sanjay Halnor, Suresh Suryavanshi, Ram Temkar, Vishnu TAwar, Ramesh Vaishnav, Amol Rothe, Bhagwan Jadhav, Ganesh Choudhary, Parshuram Kakde, Satish Karpe, Dutta Shelke and Parmeshwar Chavan gathered at Deolai on Tuesday to draw the attention of the Government towards their demands.

They made a demand with the district collector to halt loan installment collection until the situation becomes the norms.

“We are solely dependent on tourism and are struggling for survival because of restriction. We cannot pay loan installments in such a situation while bank employees are insisting on installments recovery. We are under stress because of this. We are at home as there is no work in the tourism sector. This is the situation for the past one year,” they said.
