Aurangabad, May 29:

Two motorcycle riders died on the spot after they hit a truck from behind near Ambadi Dam (Kannad) on Solapur-Dhule National Highway today at 10.30 am. The deceased have been identified as Subhash Bhaurao Madhe (35) and Mahadu Hiraman Adhan (30), both were the residents of Ambala Thakurwadi village in Kannad tehsil.

The truck (bearing number TN 45 BQ 2174) and the motorcycle (bearing number MH14 GE 7535) were coming from Chalisgaon to Kannad on Saturday morning. While negotiating with the curve near Ambari Dam (Kannad) the speed of the truck got low. The motorcycle coming from behind was unable to control the speed and hit the truck from the rear side. As a result, the motorcycle rider and the pillion-rider both died on the spot.

Acting on the information, the highway police comprising assistant police inspector Suresh Bhale, constable Umar Alanjkar, PSI (of City Police Station-Kannad) Balbhim Raut, and Ramchandra Bondre reached the spot and rushed the victims to the rural hospital, but the doctors declared them dead on examination. The post-mortem on the bodies was also performed. Meanwhile, the police have seized the truck and registered a case of accidental death.
