Unauthorized farmhouses in the city and surrounding rural aeas have come under the administration’s scrutiny. Sources revealed that tehsildars have been instructed at the administrative level to take action. A survey conducted over the past few years found that more than 350 individuals had illegally constructed farmhouses in the district. Five out of nine talukas have a high number of such structures. Many of these farmhouses are being used for commercial purposes, a fact brought to light by a survey conducted by talathis and mandal officers. The highest commercial use of unauthorized farmhouses has been observed in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar taluka. Those engaged in constructing and commercially exploiting these illegal structures are now under the administration’s radar.
