Water pipeline repairing work at Jafar Gate continues
Aurangabad, Dec 11:
The 500 mm diameter water pipeline busted at Jafar Gate area at around 9 pm on Thursday. Hence, the water supply to the Shahgunj and Jinsi water tanks were stopped. The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) immediately initiated the repairing work. However one piece of the pipeline will have to be change and the repairing work could not be completed on Friday. The work will continue on Saturday due to which the old city will have to face the water shortage.
The water pipeline in the old city is very old and complaints of water leakage is received at the water supply department at AMC frequently. On Thursday, the pipeline busted at Jafar Gate are. Acting executive engineer Kiran Dhande and others rushed to the spot and started the repairing work but the work could not be completed on Friday.
Meanwhile, cases against five persons have been lodged at the City Chowk police station who have taken illegal water connection from the main pipeline, Dhande said.
