Aurangabad, March 9:

Winchester International English School celebrated the National Science Day, the birth anniversary of scientist C V Raman, recently. Deputy director of health services, Aurangabad and chief guest Sudhir Magre while addressing staff and students of grade 10 highlighted the contribution of Sir C V Raman to the world.

Principal/director Dr Afsar Khan spoke about the Raman Effect for which Sir Chandrashekhar Venkat Raman got noble prize in Physics in 1930. He also listed his other achievements including getting Matteucci Medal, Knight Bachelor and Bharat Ratna. Science teacher Saniya Farooqui and Tabassum organised the function.
