Aurangabad, Feb 6:

The Health Department of Zilla Parishad (ZP) faces a question in generating Rs 19 lakh for disposing of 19 tonnes of used hand gloves.

It may be noted that the crime sized 19 tonnes of hand gloves in COVID period and other materials from a godown in Sajapur on August 22, 2020.

Police raided the godown owned by Ghulam Nabi Khan at gut no 53 at Sajapur-Dhanegaon and seized 19 tonnes of material. Khan had rented the godown to Afroz Shaikh Inayat. Afroz who was arrested, got bail.

Khan has paper cup making machine which was also kept in a section of the godown. Since his godown was sealed, he was unable to manufacture paper cups and facing finance problem.

Khan is making rounds of Police and ZP Health Departments. District Health Officer Sudhakar Shelke said that the department had a question on how to generate Rs 19 lakh to dispose of the seized hand gloves.
