Former India pacer Abhimanyu Mithun has reportedly come under the scanner in relation to the Karnataka spot-fixing scandal. A number of individuals including domestic veteran CM Gautam has been arrested in connection with the KPL scandsal. Meanwhile, Mithun is the first international cricketer to be questioned by Central Crime Branch. 

The lanky pacer is also captain of the Shivamogga Lions team in KPL. In KPL, Mithun first played for Malnad Gladiators and then appeared for Bijapur Bills before switching to Shivamogga Lions. The 30-year old cricketer who represented India in 4 Tests and 5 ODIs is currently in Surat with the Karnataka cricket team playing in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In a recent development it was confirmed that the next KPL will not be held till the investigation into the multi-crore betting scam is completed by the police.
