England set India a daunting target of 420, after the visitors were bundled for below 200 in the second innings. The Indians bowlers fared better, in the second innings with Ravichandran Ashwin picking up his 6 wickets. Kohli started off with Ashwin who removed Burns for a first ball duck. Ishant and Bumrah also bowled really well and kept things tight. This is the 28th time, Ashwin has taken a 5 wicket haul in tests. The all-rounder finished with 9 wickets on his home ground.

The hosts put in a decent display with Washington Sundar remaining unbeaten after scoring 85 runs from 138 balls. The all-rounder built a decent partnership with Ashwin. The partnership ended with the departure of Ashwin, and Sundar wasn't supported by the other tailenders, who lost their wickets in quick succession.
