Social media influencer and Bhojpuri actress Sapna Gill’s allegations of molestation and assault against cricketer Prithvi Shaw were ‘false and unfounded’ as told by the police to the court. The police report submitted in court allegedly stated, ‘There is no evidence to support accusation of molestation for misbehaviour against Shaw, and Gill’s allegation is false.’ Further, the police also revealed that they recorded the statements of CISF officials who were at the spot as the report said, ‘They saw that the front windshield of Shaw’s car was broken, and they had seen Gill with a baseball bat in her hand.’

In February, a video of Shaw and Gill’s altercation outside a Mumbai hotel surfaced on social media.The cricketer first filed a complaint against Gill accusing her friends of attacking him with a baseball bat and damaging his car windshield. Gill, on the other hand, filed a complaint accusing Shaw and his friend of refusing their selfie request, touching her inappropriately and assaulting her with a baseball bat.Gill was arrested in February along with some others in connection with an alleged attack on Shaw following an argument over clicking selfies at a suburban hotel.After securing bail, Gill approached the Airport police station with a complaint against Shaw, his friend Ashish Yadav, and others, for alleged molestation and outraging modesty.She later moved the court after the police didn't register a case against the cricketer.
