How Alex Hales's 2 am message on Coronavirus led to suspension of PSL 2020

The PSL 2020 has been suspended as of now due to the coronavirus crisis that has brought the world to a standstill, however, when the situation was not this gruesome, the PCB was reluctant to conduct the league as planned.

Several of the last leg matches were held behind closed doors. But then, with just 3 matches left, the league was postponed.

But what led to the suspension of the PSL, just hours before Karachi Kings were scheduled to meet Lahore Qalandars in a semi-final match? Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal has revealed the behind the scenes story of the sudden suspension of the league.

When the PCB had made the announcement, there were reports of one overseas player showing symptoms of Covid-19. And it was England's Alex Hales, who thought he could be coronavirus positive.

“It was two o’clock in the morning in Pakistan and we had a message from Alex Hales saying: ‘Boss, I have symptoms of Covid-19 and I think you should all get tested," Salman was quoted as saying by BBC.Hales, who was part of the Karachi Kings, had returned to England days earlier due to uncertainty over travel restrictions.
