Deepak Chahar MS Dhoni: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have bought fast bowler Deepak Chahar in the IPL 2022 auction. With a bid of Rs 14 crore, he became the second most expensive player in the auction.
Deepak Chahar had shown the brilliance of his all-round performance in the pre-auction cricket series.
He was injured in the Windies series after Deepak started bidding. His injury is serious and he is expected to miss most of the IPL matches. In such a case, the replacement CSK has the following three options.
Ishant Sharma - An experienced bowler who has done well in the Delhi Capitals. Like Deepak Chahar, he is a good choice for Dhoni as he is good at disciplined bowling in the opening overs.
Sandeep Warrier - He has played many local matches for Kerala. It is considered a shock that Sandeep, who is in the throes of foreign coaches, remains unsold this year. Sandeep Warrior has experience of 63 T20 matches.
Arzan Nagwaswalla - This is a relatively new bowler. But as he is a left-arm fast bowler, CSK can definitely get a different option. He has taken 20 wickets in 20 T20 matches so far.
