Jr. NTR stands tall as one of the most celebrated stars in Pan-Indian cinema, captivating audiences across the country with his stellar performances. Among his many remarkable roles, his portrayal in S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR was truly groundbreaking. While the film itself was a massive success, Jr. NTR’s impeccable acting, electrifying dance moves, and adrenaline-pumping action sequences left an indelible mark on audiences. As RRR completes three years, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on the unforgettable performance that solidified Jr. NTR’s place among India’s finest actors.

In RRR, Jr. NTR took on the role of Bheem, a character that demanded both emotional depth and high-intensity action. Speaking about the iconic scene in which he makes a dramatic entrance alongside wild animals, the actor lauded director S.S. Rajamouli for his vision, calling it the ultimate reintroduction of a character. Discussing the scene, Jr. NTR shared, “The greatest jump for a hero in the movie, I would call it, or even I think it is probably one of the best reintroductions of an actor because there is already an introduction that happened, and this is like the second introduction where the true getup of Bheem is revealed.”

His role as Komaram Bheem, the fearless Gond tribal leader who fought against the Nizam of Hyderabad for liberation, was met with widespread acclaim. Starring alongside Ram Charan, who portrayed revolutionary leader Alluri Sitarama Raju, Jr. NTR brought raw intensity and heart to the character, making Bheem one of the most memorable roles of his career. Beyond its cinematic brilliance, RRR became a career-defining film for Jr. NTR, setting new benchmarks in Indian cinema. The movie shattered records, grossing ₹223 crore worldwide on its opening day—the highest for any Indian film at the time. Adding to its historic achievements, RRR made India proud on the global stage, winning an Academy Award for Naatu Naatu, the first and only Indian feature film to earn an Oscar.
