The 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award has been announced for superstar Rajinikanth. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar made the announcement on Thursday. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest award given by the Central Government for achievements in Indian cinema. The announcement of all the awards this year was delayed due to the Corona pandemic. The National Film Awards were announced recently.Javadekar took to Twitter and wrote,"Happy to announce #Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2019 to one of the greatest actors in history of Indian cinema Rajnikant ji His contribution as actor, producer and screenwriter has been iconic"
