Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph will be getting back together for Drishyam 3. The duo's Drishyam and Drishyam 2 were blockbuster hits and were remade in multiple languages. On February 20, the Malaikottai Vaaliban actor announced the news with a photo of himself with Jeethu Joseph and producer Antony Perumbavoor.
Sharing the post, he wrote, "The Past Never Stays Silent Drishyam 3 Confirmed! #Drishyam 3 (sic)." The post went viral in no time with fans expressing their happiness. Drishyam is a crime thriller that catapulted Malayalam cinema to a bigger league. The film was so successful that it was remade in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Sinhalese and even Chinese.
The film follows the struggle of Georgekutty and his family, who come under suspicion when Varun Prabhakar, the son of the IG Geetha Prabhakar, goes missing.It stars Mohanlal alongside Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Siddique, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Roshan Basheer and Neeraj Madhav. The film was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas.
