Indian Idol 12’s most popular contestants, Pawandeep Rajan, has tested positive for the coronavirus. The Uttarakhand resident has been put under quarantine, and would be performing virtually in the coming episodes. Earlier this week, host Aditya Narayan had also tested positive for Covid-19. Sony TV shared a promo where Rithvik Dhanjani informs that Pawandeep Rajan has been quarantined in a hotel as a precautionary measure. They connect to him via video call where he requests the judges to let him perform from his hotel room. The judges readily agree.

Pawandeep Rajan hails from Uttarakhand's Champawat district. He is one of the strongest contestants of Indian Idol 12 and is also among the Top 9 contestants of the singing reality show. This is not his first reality show. Earlier, he has won The Voice India in 2015. He has performed in more than a thousand live shows. With the coronavirus cases are on the rise in India, especially Maharashtra, the state government has issued stricter guidelines for production houses to continue shoots. They have been asked to work with limited workforce and also implement all measures on set. Shoots will also not happen during weekend lockdown in order to ‘break the chain’.
