Veteran actor Jagdeep, best known for his role in Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra starrer 'Sholay' as Soorma Bhopali has passed away at the age of 81. He has also the father of actor Jaaved Jaaferi and Television Producer/Director Naved Jafri, Jagdeep has one more daughter (Muskaan Jafri) from his second wife Nazima.
Best remembered for playing 'Soorma Bhopali' in Sholay, Jagdeep appeared in more than 300 films. He appeared in films like Purana Mandir (1984), Salman Khan's dad in Andaz Apna Apna (1994), and directed a movie Soorma Bhopali with this character as the protagonist. On the work front, Jagdeep was last seen in 'Gali Gali Chor Hai'. starring Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran and Mugdha Godse. The reason of his death is yet to be disclosed. Jagdeep was awarded for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema at IIFA Awards 2019 by director Ramesh Sippy and actor Ranveer Singh.
