Singer Shilpa Rao has tied the knot with her boyfriend, Ritesh Krishnan in a intimate affair with only family members and close friends in attendance. In a Interview with Bombay Times, the 'Gungroo' singer said, “Our parents are senior citizens and therefore we chose to do a simple registered wedding at home. We kept it simple, decorated the house with flowers and my brother’s wife did my mehendi. We formally registered the wedding at around 5pm, and all my friends and family members from across the world joined in on a video call to see the ceremony.”
Sharing details about how they met, Shilpa said, “We met three years ago on (music composer) Pritam’s USA tour. Ritesh seemed to be an affectionate person, and we started hanging out together. On the first day that I met him, I felt that he was a chilled-out guy, which was very attractive for me. We started travelling together in 2018, and did many shows across India.”The singer had shared her proposal story last week. Sharing a picture from her Kashmir vacation, Shilpa wrote, “He asked me if I would be with him for all the conversations and silences… and I said YES!” Shilpa Rao completed 10 years in the film industry last year. Some of the other songs of Shilpa include, 'Malang' ('Dhoom'), and 'Bulleya' ('Ae Dil Hai Mushkil') among others. Shilpa made her Bollywood debut with the song, Anwar (2007), “Tose Naina Laage”, the track was one of the most popular songs of all time in 2007. The film featured, Siddharth Koirala, Manisha Koirala, Rajpal Yadav and Nauheed Cyrusi in key roles.
