Puneeth Rajkumar's last rites to be performed on Sunday, daughter pays her last respects

Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar's last rites will be performed on Sunday at Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Sunday, Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday. The last rites were expected to be performed on Saturday for which the Bengaluru authorities imposed strict security measures in the city. However, the last rites could not be performed on Saturday and Puneeth Rajkumar's daughter, who stays in the United States, has only reached Delhi and will arrive in Bengaluru by 7pm. "As per our tradition, we don't perform funeral after sunset. His last rites will be performed at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru tomorrow," the chief minister said.

Amidst elaborate media attention and public gaze, Puneeth Rajkumar's elder daughter, Dhrithi, reached the Kantheerava Stadium to pay respects to her father's mortal remains. Earlier, celebs, including the biggest ones from the Telugu Film Industry, came down to Bengaluru earlier today to visit the Kantheerava Stadium to bid an emotional goodbye to the veteran actor.Jr. NTR, who had shared a close personal bond with the Powerstar and lent him his voice for the film 'Chakravyuha', couldn't help but break down as he encountered the remains of his friend. He was accompanied by 'K.G.F' director Prashanth Neel who was visibly shaken by everything that had transpired.Megastar Chiranjeevi was seen shedding tears as he embraced an emotional Shiva Rajkumar inside the stadium. Chiranjeevi was accompanied by Telugu star Venkatesh, comedy actor Ali, and Puneeth's 'James' co-star Meka Srikanth.
