Veteran actress Nimmi, who marked her debut in Raj Kapoor’s ‘Barsaat’, passed away on Wednesday. The 87-year-old actress was admitted to a Juhu hospital after she completed of breathlessness. " She passed away this evening. She had been unwell for quite sometime. 

Rishi Kapoor remembered the veteran actress in a social media post, revealing how she had showered blessing on his film ‘Bobby’. “RIP. Thank you Nimmi aunty for all the blessings and love for Bobby on its premiere release. You were part of the RK family. Barsaat was your first film. Allha aapko Jannat naseeb kare. Ameen,” shared Rishi. Born as Nawab Banoo, Raj Kapoor gave her the screen name of Nimmi. She earned praise for her performance in films like ‘Daag’, ‘Aan’ and ‘Mere Mehboob’ to name a few.
