On Thursday the entire world was in a state of shock after the unexpected demise of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor in a Mumbai hospital.  The actor who was battling cancer for the past two years was also shooting for some films simultaneously before his ill health took toll on him. Out of the few films he was a part of one of them was  Sharmaji Namkeen a light-hearted coming-of-age story of a lovable 60-year-old man. Directed by Hitesh Bhatia, Sharmaji Namkeen was bankrolled by Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment. The makers of the film are now planning to release the film after finishing the pending work.

Speaking about the same, a source close to the production house Excel Entertainment has cleared the air and stated that they will finish the production of the movie. “Excel has no intention of abandoning the film or leaving it incomplete. Sharmaji Namkeen was Rishi sir’s last film and we will leave no stone unturned to make sure that the film is completed. It’s the least we can do to honour the memory of Rishi sir,” Actress Juhi Chawla, who is a part of Rishi's last film Sharmaji Namkeen penned a long note remembering the late actor. Rishi and Juhi shot for a few scenes of the movie but later due to the actor's treatment, the schedule got postponed.
