“She (Maryam) Changed Me”: Shalini Pandey Pens a Heartfelt Note as Bandwaale Begins Streaming

As Bandwaale begins streaming, Shalini Pandey marked the milestone with a deeply personal note on social media. Welcoming audiences into the world of her character Maryam, the actor reflected on a journey that appears to have been as transformative for her as it was creatively fulfilling.

The release arrives at a time when Pandey is navigating a particularly assured phase in her career. Fresh off winning the Breakthrough Performance award  for her powerful turn in Maharaj, she has steadily gravitated towards roles that demand emotional depth and nuance. Over the past year, with projects like Dabba Cartel and Rahu Ketu, the actor has embraced characters that challenge and reshape her artistic instincts — and Bandwaale seems to have left a distinct imprint.

Directed by Akshat Verma and co-created by Swanand Kirkire and Ankur Tewari, Bandwaale follows Maryam, a young poet from Ratlam, as she navigates the quiet suffocation of expectations, marriage, and unspoken ambition. It is a story of soft rebellion — where resistance simmers beneath silence — and Pandey’s words suggest that the character blurred the line between performance and personal truth.

Sharing her thoughts in the caption space, Pandey wrote,

“Maryam is all yours now.
She changed me.
She reminded me of freedom, truth, and self-expression.
Some characters you play.
Some characters become a part of you.
Endless gratitude to every maker who made this journey unforgettable.
Every day on set was pure joy.
Go meet Maryam. And maybe, while you’re at it — believe in yourself a little more fiercely.
Anddd keep dreaming!! 🌻”

With Bandwaale now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Shalini Pandey is poised for an exciting slate of upcoming announcements, further cementing her place as one of the most compelling performers of her generation.
