Pfizer's coronavirus vaccination campaign has started in the UK today. The first dose of Pfizer vaccine has been given to a 90-year-old woman in the UK. Notably, Margaret Keenan, who was given the dose, will turn 91 next week and said it was the best birthday present she ever received. In the next few weeks, 8 lakh doses of the first phase of Pfizer-Bioentech will be delivered in the UK. It is expected that 4 million doses will be available by the end of this month. In the UK, citizens over the age of 80 and some health workers will be vaccinated in the first phase.

"I'm glad I was given the first dose of the corona-beating vaccine. It's the best birthday gift for me. After spending most of this year alone, this vaccine will allow me to spend time with my family in the new year," said Margaret, who received the Pfizer vaccine. Margaret has also given a message to those who will be vaccinated. My advice to anyone offered the vaccine is to take it. If I can have it at 90 then you can have it too," she said.

The immunization programme will be rolled out across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and is being closely monitored by governments and public health officials around the world.
