Poor dietary habits, irregular meal timings, excessive consumption of spicy and oily foods, stress, and insufficient sleep disrupt the digestive system and trigger symptoms of indigestion. Initially, this discomfort may seem minor; however, if left unaddressed, it can lead to serious health complications later on.
When indigestion occurs, one experiences a sensation of heaviness or bloating in the stomach, frequent belching, nausea, and heartburn. Some individuals lose their appetite, while others experience increased headaches, fatigue, and irritability. If indigestion persists frequently, it can pave the way for conditions such as gastric disorders, acidity, and ulcers. Furthermore, the body fails to absorb essential nutrients effectively, which subsequently impacts overall health.
In such situations, certain simple home remedies can prove highly beneficial. Chewing a small amount of cumin seeds (Jeera) and carom seeds (Ajwain) after meals improves digestion and alleviates gas-related discomfort.
