After removing blue tick badge from Vice President Venkaiah Naidu's Twitter account, Twitter has now removed the blue tick from the account of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Twitter had removed the blue tick badge from Vice President Venkaiah Naidu's personal account. Since then, many have expressed outrage on social media. Two hours later, Twitter corrected his mistake and Naidu's personal account blue tick was restored. After this, the blue tick on the account of RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat has been deleted.

The blue verified badge was removed from the RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat personal Twitter handle over inactivity, although several twitterers have put screenshots of handles that continue to have blue tick despite being inactive for over a year.

Mohan Bhagwat's account was opened in May 2019.However, there is no tweet on his account.

"As explained in the Twitter verification policy, Twitter may remove the blue verified badge and verified status if the account becomes inactive. The verified badge has now been restored," Twitter said in a statement.

According to Twitter, the blue verified badge on Twitter lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic. To be verified, an account must be notable, authentic, and active.
