The Governor of Maharashtra and Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, has expressed grief over the demise of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. In a condolence message, the Governor said he was deeply saddened by the untimely death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane accident. He prayed that God grant salvation to the departed soul of Pawar and give strength to the Pawar family, colleagues, and countless supporters to bear this tragic loss, the Governor said in his condolence message.

“I am deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Shri Ajit Pawar ji. May God grant salvation to the departed soul and give strength to the family members and supporters to endure this irreparable loss. Om Shanti,” the Governor said.

Shiv Sena UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray also condoled the death of Maharashtra Deputy CM said its shocking. "Ajit dada's news is truly shocking! Words fail me. I had the opportunity to work with dada for 5–6 years... first in the government and then for a few days in the opposition. His commanding grip on legislative affairs and his affectionate nature won over many like me. Even when I was in the opposition, I had publicly said this many times. Today's news is truly shocking. My humble tribute to Ajit dada and his colleagues in the accident," said.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has died after a private charter aircraft crashed near the Baramati airstrip on Wednesday morning, January 28. The senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader was travelling from Mumbai when the aircraft, a Learjet 45, came down just minutes before its scheduled landing. Authorities have confirmed that all five individuals on board were killed in the accident.

The Deputy Chief Minister had departed from Mumbai earlier today for a planned visit to his political stronghold of Baramati. The flight was operated by VSR Ventures Pvt Ltd using a Learjet 45, registered as VT-SSK.

According to flight data, the aircraft was on its final approach when it lost altitude and crash-landed in an open area near the perimeter of the Baramati airstrip. Local emergency services reached the wreckage within minutes, but officials reported that the impact was non-survivable.
