Amravati: 5 Men Sexual Assault 18-Year-Old Girl in Bhankheda Phata, Police Arrest in Singham Style Operation
An incident that has brought shame to humanity occurred in the Bhankheda Phata of Amravati on the outskirts of the city. An 18-year-old college girl and her friend were intercepted by five accused, who subjected them to brutal assault. The attackers mercilessly beat the friend, tied him up, and sexually assaulted the girl. Shockingly, the accused also recorded a video of the crime. However, the Amravati Police acted swiftly in a ‘Singham’-style operation and managed to arrest all five accused within twelve hours, drawing attention to their rapid response and determination in handling the case with utmost urgency and efficiency.
On the night of March 28, at around 8 pm, the victim was returning on a moped with her friend when the accused stopped them on the way. They forcibly dragged the duo into a nearby forested area and began assaulting the friend for money, leaving him severely injured and bleeding. Despite the victim handing over the cash she had with her, one of the accused raped her while the others assisted him in committing the crime. The brutality of the act and the coordinated involvement of all accused has intensified the gravity of the incident causing widespread public outrage.
After receiving information about the incident, police teams launched an intensive overnight search operation under the guidance of Police Commissioner Rakesh Ola. The teams combed through the forest area and relied on technical investigation to trace the accused. Within hours, all five were tracked down and taken into custody. A case of gang rape and robbery has been registered in connection with the crime. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ganesh Shinde warned that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to reveal the identity of the victim, emphasizing the importance of protecting her privacy and dignity at times going forward.
