Chandrapur Shocker: Husband Strangles Wife to Death in Ballarpur Over Domestic Dispute, Arrested

Maharashtra: Husband allegedly strangled his wife to death over a suspected affair, escalating a marital dispute into violence. This incident occurred on Thursday, morning, in the Rani Lakshmi Ward area of ​​the city. Deceased wife identified as Bhagyalakshmi alias Bannu Rajesh Mukya , while the accused husband, Rajesh Gopal Mukya, has been arrested by the police.

According to police information, Rajesh Mukya resided with his wife, Bhagyalakshmi, in the Rani Lakshmi Ward locality. On Tuesday, after he returned home from work, his wife, Bhagyalakshmi, confronted him and initiated an argument, suspecting him of having an affair with another woman. This argument escalated into a physical altercation. The accused assaulted his wife and strangled her, resulting in her death.

Following the incident, the accused initially ignored the situation, assuming she had merely fallen asleep. However, when he attempted to wake her up in the early hours of the morning, she failed to respond. With the assistance of friends, she was rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.

Confession to the Murder

According to the preliminary post-mortem report, it was confirmed that the death resulted from asphyxiation caused by strangulation. Furthermore, injuries were observed on the body of the accused husband. Upon receiving this information, the police took him into custody. After undergoing police interrogation, the accused, Rajesh, confessed to the murder. Consequently, the police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and formally arrested the husband, Rajesh Mukya.
