Domestic violence in COVID-19: "Harasser will be institutionally quarantined" says Pune Zila Parishad

There is a rise in domestic violence cases across the country since the COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown.

We've taken a measure to prevent any form of domestic violence against women. In case of an incident of domestic violence against women, we will first do counseling, if that fails, then the harasser will be institutionally quarantined, said Ayush Prasad, Zila Parishad CEO, Pune. 



The country-wide lockdown, which was earlier scheduled to end on April 14, was extended till May 3 as part of efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus
