Baban Shinde, a resident of Ahmednagar city in Maharashtra has claimed to develop an effective remedy for coronavirus which he presented to the district level committee. Shinde claims that corona can be cured by taking his medicine. The district level committee has sent two bottles of his medicine to the state level committee. The government has set up a task force committee under the chairmanship of renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Tatyarao Lahane. 

Mr. Baban Shinde has also been contacted by the North American University twice regarding his claims on the vaccines.The decision to send ayurvedic medicine made from mint, carom seeds and menthol to the state level task force committee was taken at the district level technical committee meeting on 25th May. 

The state level committee will decide whether to use the drug or not. Efforts are underway to develop a vaccine to treat coronavirus. 

The committee will take further decision after researching the medicine prepared by Shinde. If the medicine prepared by Shinde shows positive results, it will be used on patients. 

"The district level technical advisory committee has decided to send the medicine prepared by Baban Shinde to the state level committee and further action will be taken according to the decision of this committee", Dr. Anil Borge, Health Officer and Member District Level Advisory Committee.
