A vehicle carrying firecrackers gutted with fire in Maharahtra's Yavatmal district on Saturday April 24, 2026. According to the reports the vehcile was traveling from Kasola village towards Pusad in Mahagaon Taluk. The video of this incident has surfaced on social media.
Firecrackers ignited within seconds, turning the vehicle into a fireball. The driver, displaying quick thinking, immediately stopped and escaped unharmed. While the vehicle was destroyed, no casualties were reported. The fire's cause remains under investigation.

Earlier, five people were killed in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district in the early hours of Saturday, April 25. The accident took place around 3 am when a speeding Scorpio lost control on the highway, crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an oncoming trailer. A pet dog travelling in the vehicle also died in the crash.

The impact of the collision was severe, and all five occupants of the SUV died on the spot. Following the accident, local residents gathered at the scene. Police from Doharighat station reached the spot soon after receiving information and began rescue operations. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
