The home delivery of liquor in Maharashtra will start from May 15, an order issued by the state excise department on Wednesday said."The home delivery of liquor will commence from Friday across the state, where the shops are already opened in the non-containment zones. One shop owner cannot appoint more than 10 delivery persons and one delivery person cannot carry more than 24 bottles of permitted liquor in one time," the order said.

Maharashtra Government Excise department on Tuesday allowed home delivery of liquor with certain guidelines and precautions which are to be followed during the home delivery.

"Maharashtra government hereby permits the licensee holding the licensees in form FL-II, FL/BR-II, FL/W-II, as appended to the Bombay Liquor Rules 1953, to sell the IMFL - Spirits, Beer, Mild Liquor, Wines, to the permit holders by effecting delivery at the home address of the permit holders, subject to the conditions," the notification said.

As per the order dated May 11, the government has stipulated certain conditions such as compulsory usage of masks and hand sanitizers by the persons assigned for delivery of liquor.
