Maharashtra: Man Arrested for Killing Labourer Friend Over Liquor Dispute in Latur
Maharashtra: In anger of refusing to buy liquor man allegedly killed 40-year-old labourer with tile. Following this incident accused got arrested. The incident took place on Monday morning at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in the old railway line road area, a locality known for rampant illicit liquor sale.
Yogesh Munde fatally struck his friend Anil Zodpe on the head with a floor tile after Zodpe refused to share liquor, according to police. The victim died at the scene. Following a complaint filed by the deceased's father-in-law at the Shivajinagar police station, Munde was arrested and is scheduled to appear in local court on Thursday.
In separate incident, a 28-year-old man was murdered by his colleague for allegedly washing hands in his plate after breakfast. This horrific incident came to light on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, after Panchal's body was found in the watchmen's quarters. According to NDTV reports, Shyam was allegedly murdered by his colleague after a trivial argument at a private apartment complex in Telangana's Kollur.
Police said, On January 19, Panchal and Atul Sahani were having breakfast when Panchal washed his hands in Sahani's plate, triggering a heated argument. The argument escalated, and Sahani allegedly struck Panchal on the head, causing severe injuries that resulted in his immediate death. Police have began a murder investigation, questioning witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the motive and sequence of events.
