Maharashtra: Police Officer Collapses, Dies of Heart Attack During Republic Day Celebrations in Dharashiv; Disturbing Video Surfaces
A sub-inspector died after suffering a heart attack during a Republic Day flag-hoisting ceremony in Maharashtra’s Dharashiv district on Monday, January 26, 2026. Mohan Jadhav, 55, collapsed while attending the ceremony at the Talmode border check post in Omerga taluka as the national anthem was being played. He was rushed for medical help by colleagues but was declared dead on the spot.
A video of the incident, recorded on a mobile phone, has surfaced on social media showing Jadhav standing near the national flag before suddenly losing balance and collapsing.

Jadhav was a native of Solapur and was serving with the state excise department in Omerga. Following his death, officials and staff members in the excise department in Solapur and Dharashiv expressed grief.
Colleagues described Jadhav as a sincere and disciplined officer who was committed to his duties.
