Maharashtra: Two Women Seriously Injured as Scooter Hits Car in Karad; Disturbing Footage Surfaces

Maharashtra: CCTV footage of a tragic accident has surfaced on social media, showing two women being seriously injured after their two-wheeler collided with a car in the middle of the road in Karad’s Budhwar Peth area. The incident, which occurred on January 19, 2026, has left everyone in shock.

The viral footage shows a routine day turning tragic when two women riding a two-wheeler were hit a car coming from a side road. In the accident, one woman was seen falling next to the scooter, while the other woman was run over by the car, leaving her critically injured.

On January 17, a woman in Pune was filmed driving with a man on the hood of her car after he tried to prevent her escape following a minor accident on Sangamwadi-Shahdawal Dargah road. The man, Ram Rathod (34), sustained a hand injury but did not initially report the incident. The event came to light after a video went viral. Police traced Rathod, a witness to a hit-and-run that occurred around 3 P.M. on Sangamwadi Road involving the same woman.

According to police, the woman, driving from Yerawada to Shivajinagar, struck a motorcycle, injuring the rider, his wife, and child. Rathod, whose cab was behind the woman's car, witnessed her reversing into his cab. He then stopped her, leading to the incident. The woman has since been arrested.
