Maharashtra: Woman Robbed of Gold Jewellery Worth Rs 3.35 Lakh at Bus Stand in Beed
Maharashtra: Woman got robbed of Rs 3.35 lakh at Kaij bus Stand in Beed district while she was on her way to attend her brother's wedding. Incident took place on Sunday evening, Feb 1,2026, police said on Monday. Victim identified as Ashwini Gholve, a resident of Teacher Colony, was boarding a bus for Nashik.
According to PTI, unidentified woman opened the victim's handbag and fled with gold jewellery worth Rs 3.35 lakh that was a kept in a box. Victim was on her way to attend her brother's wedding. Stolen items include a one 'tola' gold ring, a gold mangalsutra, a ring and a pair of earrings weighing 5 gram each," he said.
In Mumbai a driver was robbed by passengers in the Govandi area. Two youths, who posed as passengers, allegedly took the driver to a deserted lane and robbed him of his mobile phone and cash. Acting swiftly on the victim’s complaint, the police arrested both accused within a few hours of the incident.
Kurla East resident Mohammad Shafiq Sheikh, 24, an autorickshaw driver, was robbed in Gautam Nagar after picking up passengers from Santacruz Railway Station. The passengers directed him to multiple locations before robbing him of a phone and cash. Police arrested Mohammad Asif Riyaz Khan, 26, and Qais Shamshad Ansari alias Kaif, 26. A robbery case is under investigation.
