Hill stations like Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani, Matheran, and Chikhaldara have long been known for their cool and refreshing climate. However, these serene getaways are now grappling with an unexpected surge in temperatures.

By the second week of April, the mercury began to rise alarmingly. Lonavala recorded a high of 38°C on Monday, while Igatpuri and Toranmal saw temperatures touch 39°C — levels unheard of in these traditionally cool regions.
