Milk Prices Hiked by Rs 2 Per Litre in Maharashtra from Today; Check New Rates for Cow and Buffalo Milk

Inflation continues to rise, further straining the common man's budget. Already struggling with soaring prices, consumers now face another setback as the price of milk has increased by Rs 2 per litre, effective from today (March 15).

The decision to hike milk prices comes as inflation is affecting households across all sectors. On Wednesday, members of the Milk Producers and Processing Welfare Association held a meeting at the Pune District of Maha Rashtra Cooperative Milk Producers Association Limited (Katraj Dairy) to discuss the price hike. The decision was unanimously approved by 47 representatives from various cooperative and private dairy associations.

Association President Gopalrao Mhaske, Honorary Secretary Prakash Kutwal, Sangamner Milk Association President Ranjitsinh Deshmukh, Shripad Chitale, and Pune District Association President Swapnil Dhamdhere attended the meeting.

With this price hike, consumers will now have to pay more for both cow and buffalo milk. Currently, cow’s milk is rate at Rs 54-56 per litre, which will now increase to Rs 56-58 per litre. Similarly, the cost of buffalo milk, which was Rs 70-72 per litre, will now rise to Rs 72-74 per litre.
