MSEDCL to provide new electricity connection for SC, ST households on priority under this scheme

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jeevan Prakash Yojana of the Maharashtra Government is providing new domestic electricity connection to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe applicants with priority from MSEDCL. MSEDCL will start the process of providing new home electricity connection as soon as it receives the complete application with proper documents.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jeevan Prakash Yojana has been started from 14th April to 6th December 2021 to provide new domestic electricity connection to the citizens belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Beneficiary applicants have the facility to apply online or offline for electricity connection under this scheme.Beneficiaries will have to pay a total deposit of Rs.500 / - to MSEDCL for household connection through this scheme. This amount can also be paid in five equal monthly installments.

After the approval of the application for connection by MSEDCL, if the electrical infrastructure is available, the connection will be made operational within the next 15 working days. Also, in areas where electrical infrastructure has to be constructed for power connection, the infrastructure will be provided by MSEDCL from Swanidhi or District Planning Development Committee funds (including special component schemes and tribal measures) or agricultural contingency funds and other available funds to the concerned beneficiaries and beneficiaries will be provided electricity connection.

Applicants from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes category should attach the caste certificate for the new electricity connection, Aadhar card, resident card along with the application in the prescribed form. There should be no previous arrears of electricity bill at the place of application for connection. It is also necessary to attach the test report of the power set up from a government approved electrical contractor with the application.
