Navi Mumbai: Two health workers test COVID-19 positive
Two health workers have tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday under the jurisdiction of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).
With this, the tally has gone to 54, while four have died in Navi Mumbai area.
“A 36-year-old man from Karave (Belapur) tested positive. He works at TB hospital in Sewri, Mumbai, and is being treated at KEM hospital, Mumbai. A newly-appointed nurse at a private hospital in Belapur, who has been admitted to NMMC hospital in Vashi, also tested positive,” said a civic official.
The private hospital stated that the nurse does not seem to have contracted the infection from the hospital. After she tested positive, the hospital tested 30 nurses there but all tested negative. Civic officials appealed to Covid-19 patients and close contacts to submit all required information to doctors, so that spread of the virus can be prevented.
