A team of CBI officers will arrive in Mumbai on today to investigate the corruption allegations made by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh against Anil Deshmukh.

Petitioner Dr Jaishri Patil on Tuesday filed caveat before Supreme Court as Deshmukh & Maharashtra government is expected to approach the apex against Bombay HC order.

The Bombay High Court on Monday ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to start a preliminary inquiry within 15 days into corruption allegations against Deshmukh by the former Mumbai Police Commissioner.

The court also directed the agency to register an FIR if any cognizable offence is found. The court also stated that Deshmukh is the Home Minister and an impartial probe should be done by the police.

Meanwhile, a day after resigning from the post of home minister of Maharashtra, Anil Deshmukh is now in Delhi to file his petition in Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court order.

Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh tendered his resignation to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday. Deshmukh was accused by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh of recovering Rs 100 crore. The allegation had caused a stir in the state.
