A woman was found dead in a room at a lodge in Mangaon taluka of Raigad district, Maharashtra on Monday, April 21, according to the news agency IANS. The lifeless body was found at Omkar Lodge in Lonere, located on the Mumbai–Goa highway. According to reports, a young man and woman had checked into the lodge and rented a room. On Monday afternoon, the woman was found lying in a pool of blood inside the room. The incident came to light when a staff member opened the door for cleaning.
Police said the body was discovered in a blood-soaked condition, and initial suspicion points towards the man who had accompanied her. He is believed to have fled before the incident was reported.
The deceased is reportedly from Vadgaon in Mangaon taluka. Preliminary information suggests she was in a relationship with the accused, and the two had come to the lodge together. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and police have launched a search to trace the absconding suspect. Further investigation is underway in the case is underway.
