Ratnagiri Shocker: Son Attacks Mother With Grinding Stone In Lanja After Dispute
In an unexpected turn of events son allegedly hit his mother with the help of grinding stone (varvanta). This incident took place in Dhavanewadi, Lanja. In this incident mother was seriously injured in the attack, and the police immediately admitted her to the hospital for treatment, saving her life.
Seriously injured mother is Sunita Ganpat Divale lives with her son Santosh Ganpat Divale (aged 35). Santosh was addicted to alcohol, so he and his mother always had arguments. Santosh had brought prawns from the market on Sunday evening. After the mother cleaned them, she told the son, ‘You prepare the masala. The son got angry and hit his mother on the head with a varwanta. After that, he tried to kill her with his shirt. However, he got scared when he saw the blood on the ground and the mother lying unconscious.
After receiving information about the incident, a team including Police Sub-Inspectors Amod Sarangle and Devkanya Maindad, Assistant Police Inspector Bhalchandra Revane, Nitesh Rane, Women Police Officers Priyanka Kamble and Urmila Shede, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Suresh Kadam, and Lanja In-charge Inspector Amit Yadav visited the scene. The police promptly admitted the injured elderly woman to Lanja Rural Hospital and then transferred her to the District Government Hospital in Ratnagiri for further treatment.
Santosh Ganpat Divale was arrested and charged under Section 109 of the Indian Penal Code Act 2023. Police Sub-Inspector Devkanya Maindad is leading the ongoing investigation. Santosh, who had been sober for three days, was frightened to find his mother injured and alone. With no one else to turn to, he went to the Lanja police station to report the incident. The police's quick response was crucial in saving the woman's life.
