Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar on Thursday, May 13, arrived at the State Legislative Assembly on two-wheelers, ditching his usual car convoy.
The Chief Minister took the step following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal to citizens to save fuel. Fadnavis arrived at Vidhan Bhavan riding a Royal Enfield 350 Bullet bike with a pillion Minister Ashish Shelar.

Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar also joined the CM during the two-wheeler ride. Notably, not only the CM Fadnavis, but even members of his security convoy were seen travelling on two-wheelers during the journey.
At a time when several ministers and MLAs are shifting towards electric vehicles, the Chief Minister’s move highlighted two-wheelers as an alternative to deal with Mumbai’s growing traffic congestion and fuel consumption.
