Maharashtra Cyber Registers FIR Over Viral Obscene Videos Linked to Ashok Kharat

The Maharashtra Cyber Police has registered a case against multiple social media links for allegedly circulating obscene videos involving accused Ashok Kharat and several victims, officials said.

According to cyber officials, an FIR has been lodged under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act against four social media links for promoting and sharing the objectionable content online.

A senior officer from Maharashtra Cyber revealed that around 15 to 17 explicit videos linked to Ashok Kharat have gone viral across various platforms, including pornographic websites, Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram.

Investigations have further found that individuals seeking access to these videos were allegedly charged between ₹20 and ₹50 per clip. Upon payment, the videos were shared with them.

Police officials expressed concern that the circulation of these videos has led to the identities of several victims being exposed, raising serious privacy and safety issues.

Maharashtra Cyber Chief Yashasvi Yadav confirmed that a case has been registered and a detailed investigation is underway. He added that arrests are likely in the coming days as the probe progresses.
