In a major administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra Home Department has finally brought relief to police officers awaiting transfers by announcing large-scale transfers and promotions of IPS and State Police Service officers across the state. The reshuffle holds special significance for the Mumbai Police, with several key changes at the level of Joint Commissioners, Additional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and other senior officers.
Among the most significant transfers in the Mumbai Police, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Lakmi Gautam has been transferred from Mumbai to the post of Special Inspector General of Police (Law and Order), Maharashtra State. In turn, Special IG (Law and Order) Manoj Sharma has been appointed as Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Mumbai. Suhel Haque, who was serving as Special IG (Planning and Coordination), Maharashtra State, has been posted as Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration), Mumbai.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumbhare has been appointed as Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mumbai, while Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Satya Narayan Chaudhary has been given additional charge of the Traffic Department. Rajesh Pradhan, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Joint Commissioner of Police (Economic Offences), Mumbai. Nishit Mishra has been transferred from the Economic Offences Wing to the post of Special IG (Training). Jai Kumar has been shifted from the post of Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration), Mumbai, to Special IG, Force One.
Additional Commissioner of Police Mahesh Patil has been promoted and appointed as Special IG (Planning and Coordination), Maharashtra State, from the Eastern Regional Division, Mumbai. Additional Commissioner of Police Paramjit Dahiya has been transferred from Mumbai to the Anti-Terrorism Squad as Special IG.
At the Deputy Commissioner of Police level, Ganesh Shinde has been transferred from Amravati City to Mumbai Police. Pankaj Dahale from Navi Mumbai, Kavita Nerkar from Chalisgaon in Jalgaon district, Purnima Chougule from Mira-Bhayandar-Vasai-Virar, Himmat Jadhav from Pune City, Shivaji Pawar from Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch and Jayant Meena from the Anti-Terrorism Squad have all been appointed as Deputy Commissioners of Police in Mumbai. Abhaysingh Deshmukh, who was serving as Aide-de-Camp to the Governor, has also been appointed as DCP in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Jadhav has been transferred from Mumbai City to the post of Superintendent of Police, Crime Investigation Department, Nashik. Akbar Pathan and Mahesh Chimte have been posted to the Maharashtra Police Academy in Nashik from Mumbai. Mitesh Ghatte has been transferred from Mumbai to the post of Superintendent of Police, Force One, while Vaishali Shinde has been appointed to the Special Security Unit of the State Intelligence Department.
In Navi Mumbai, Vijay Kharat has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police. Deepak Sakore has been promoted from Additional Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai, to Joint Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai. Vishal Thakur, Yogesh Chavan and Rahul Khade have also been appointed as DCPs in Navi Mumbai. Tanaji Chikhale has been transferred from the Raigad Highway Security Department to Dial 112, Navi Mumbai, while Tirupati Kakade has been shifted from Navi Mumbai Traffic Department to Superintendent of Police, Highway Security, Raigad. Preeti Tipre has been transferred from Dial 112, Navi Mumbai, to the post of DCP in Mira-Bhayandar-Vasai-Virar. Sanjay Yedpure has been appointed as Special IG, VIP Security, from the post of Joint Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai.
Among senior IPS-level transfers, Krishna Prakash has been shifted from Additional Director General of Police (Force One) to Additional Director General of Police (Training). Datta Karale has been appointed to the State Human Rights Commission from Nashik Range. Pravin Padwal has been transferred from the Training Department to Nashik Range, while C.K. Meena has been moved from the Anti-Terrorism Squad to Konkan Range. Sanjay Darade has been transferred from Konkan Range to the post of Joint Commissioner of Police, Pune. Ranjan Sharma has been appointed as Special IG, Kolhapur Range, from Pune. Sunil Phulari has been shifted from Kolhapur Range to the Crime Investigation Department (East). S.V. Pathak has been transferred from Thane to the post of Special IG (Economic Offences), Pune.
Apart from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, large-scale transfers have also been carried out in Pune, Nagpur, Solapur, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Yavatmal, Nashik, Thane and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Additionally, IPS officers of the 2022 batch have been promoted to the Senior Time Scale and given fresh postings.
