Mumbai Accident: Elderly Woman Critically Injured After Garbage Dumper Hits Her in Mahim

A shocking road accident in Mumbai left an elderly woman critically injured after she was struck by a garbage dumper truck in the Mahim area on a busy road. The incident occurred near the Shitladevi Mandir Metro Station, where heavy traffic is common throughout the day. As per reports, the woman was trying to cross the road when the speeding garbage dumper truck rammed into her, causing critical injuries and significant blood loss. Locals present at the spot immediately rushed to her aid and arranged to shift her to the nearest hospital for urgent medical treatment. Visual evidence also showed police personnel and traffic officials arriving promptly at the location to manage the situation and clear congestion. However, there is currently no official update regarding her health condition. It also remains unclear whether authorities have registered a case against the driver or taken any legal action in connection with the incident.

In a separate tragic accident, three students from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay lost their lives in a fatal crash on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway near Lonavala on Thursday morning. The students were reportedly returning from Khandala after going there to witness the sunrise. Their car, a Volkswagen Polo, met with a severe accident under circumstances that are still being investigated. The sudden loss has sent shockwaves through the academic community and peers.

The victims have been identified as Omkumar Borse (23) from Nashik, Lay (20) from Nagpur, and Shreyansh Sharma (22) from Jaipur. According to police officials, the exact cause of the accident is yet to be established, as no eyewitnesses were present at the scene at the time of the crash. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine what led to the fatal incident.
