A boundary wall at an ongoing redevelopment site on SV Road in Dahisar (East) collapsed suddenly on Saturday, sending debris onto the adjoining footpath and a portion of the roadside.

The wall, which had advertisement hoardings mounted above it, gave way without warning. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

According to a civic official, the fallen structure was part of an old compound wall at the site. Following the collapse, the designated officer of the BMC’s R-North ward directed the developer to immediately halt work at the redevelopment project pending further inspection. Authorities are expected to assess the structural safety of the site and determine the cause of the collapse.
